What is inside the block of wood

I wanted to show how to find out what is inside a simple block of wood.  We start out with a piece of Walnut that is about 10" long, 7" wide, and 4" high. 






Round off the corners and mount to the lathe.



Shape the bottom of the bowl.



Reverse chuck to hold the bowl  from the bottom



reverse again and hold with a pressure chuck and you see what was inside...
